With extensive local and international hospitality management experience, Shahzad Syed has been responsible for total management oversight of renowned hospitality operations/organizations and specializes in hotel management.

Shahzad Syed has worked in all phases of hospitality operations, in various continents of the world & in a variety of ownership and management structures acquiring a wealth of expertise and knowledge while moving through the ranks of this exciting industry. He has been a valuable part of various renowned organizations and has significantly contributed to their professional competence, quality, profitability and development.

Currently Shahzad Syed is the Principle/Director of LodgingStar Corporation, an established hospitality support and management company. Before taking on his current responsibilities Shahzad was the Regional Director & General Manager of “Wyndham Garden Hotel – Toronto”, the first Wyndham hotel to encapsulate the Michael Graves design elements. The property was recently featured in “Lodging Hospitality” Magazine and is currently the flag bearer for the Wyndham Garden brand in Canada. Prior to recent assignments Shahzad Syed was associated with Serena Hotels, a Paris based international hotel company, H.H Prince Karim Aga Khan being its chairman, owning and operating four & five star renowned hotels and resorts as Country Director of Operations & General Manager responsible for the overall operations of six renowned luxury properties (including “Leading Hotel of the World” property) while being directly responsible for the company’s flagship hotel. He was instrumental in achieving excellent companywide results and was actively involved in planning & development of new projects. In addition he oversaw completion & hand over of company’s new five star developments and refurbishment of existing resorts. Shahzad’s earlier association with Hilton International Hotels as a Food & Beverage departmental executive took him to various locations in south & far-east Asia including Singapore, Hong Kong, Jakarta and Manila. Resultantly he managed and worked with a variety of nationalities in different parts of the world and therefore is well versed in understanding the managerial requirements for different geographical locations.

 Shahzad thrives in fast paced, challenging and progressive work environment and possess excellent skills in planning, organization, supervision, training, team building, leadership, communication, human resources, finance and sales & marketing. He has managed a variety of full service quality operations, both for owning and management companies, and his involvement in the opening of four hotels and six restaurants has honed his skills to meet challenges and pressure situations. Due to these professional traits, a hands-on approach and a strong commitment to upholding and maintaining fair professional values Shahzad Syed was able to consistently achieve exemplary results for the operations he managed.

 As you can see, Mr. Syed is very able to lead others through their learning and career in the hotel industry and will offer Constellation College of Hospitality students a wealth of knowledge and direction in this fabulous field.
